ADP guards King Edward VII Hospital

Petersfield-based security firm, ADP Security Systems Ltd, is pleased to announce the start of its contract to provide manned guarding at King Edward VII Hospital, Midhurst.
The provision of an extra security presence during the night means that the staff on duty feel more secure and are able to call for assistance whenever required. The high visibility of regular security patrols is a pro-active deterrant to criminals and intruders and helps to prevent theft from the hospital.
The hospital has 420 staff, some of whom work during the night. As well as patients, there are also resident staff – including doctors on call, nursing and paramedic staff, and support services staff. ADP Security Systems has been contracted to secure 25 acres of the property which includes the main hospital and other outbuildings.
As well as regular patrols inside and outside the buildings, to check that all doors and windows are closed and alarms activated, security officers are available to help at reception with a variety of duties including car-parking duty and helping patients to a ward. ADP Security Systems is also contracted to assist in the case of fire alarms and emergencies.
James McGivern, director of facilities at the hospital, explains: “The arrangement with ADP has to be partnership between us, if it is to work well. We chose ADP because it is a local company and we believe they will respond swiftly in the case of any emergency. So far I am pleased with the company’s service, and find them nice people to deal with.”
Dave Preston, director of ADP Security Systems, added: “King Edward VII Hospital is an important contract for us, and demonstrates very well our capability of securing large premises, with complex layouts and large numbers of personnel. My father was a patient for some months at the hospital, and it is good to be supporting the hospital at the current time.”
