Six new security officers, resident in Surrey and Hampshire, have joined ADP Security Systems Ltd recently, to support a rise in the demand for mobile patrols and increased services at existing manned guarding sites.

The new security officers will join existing security and facilities teams at locations in Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex including a prestigious shopping centre and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency in Southampton. Their duties will include guarding patrols, access control, car park monitoring, post-room duties and facilities management support.

In the wake of the retirement of shopping centre manager, Bill Dummer at Tunsgate Square in Guildford, the remit of the incumbent security team from ADP Security Systems Ltd has been widened to fulfill a new assistant centre manager role. This means extra duties for ADP's security officers to maintain the standard of the facilities, and respond to shopkeepers' or visitors' problems.

Nicola Mendelssohn, who had worked alongside Bill Dummer in a joint centre management role since October 1999, knows the security team very well. She said. "ADP have risen to the challenge of providing us with two assistant centre managers to not only provide security at the centre but also to help me run the whole centre. They undertake a variety of duties, in addition to their primary security role, telephoning for equipment repairs, testing the fire alarms, organizing bin collections and responding to issues as they occur."
