Witley Parish Council protects property for local residents
11/2/2005
Security guards have been called in to safeguard important property and assets for residents of Witley Parish, near Godalming in Surrey.
Important facilities and assets owned by Witley Parish Council have been vulnerable to intruders and wanton vandalism in recent months, and the Council has called in security officers from ADP Security Systems Ltd to protect key locations in the community. The Parish Council also recently invested in a new upgraded electronic alarm system.
The security guards will be keeping an eye on local sports facilities including the pavilion and playing fields, as well as vehicle and equipment stores, and parish allotments. The service includes mobile security patrols during the day and night-time, emergency response and key holding.
Brian Groves, Clerk to Witley Parish Council, said that the decision to choose ADP was based on economics and quality of service – “ADP offered the best value for money. The real test of the security will be in the summer when there is normally a higher incidence of vandalism, but we are confident that these new systems will help eliminate the sorts of problem we have encountered before.”
